A Secretaria Nacional de Políticas Penais (Senappen), ligada ao Ministério da Justiça e Segurança Pública, informou nesta terça-feira (4) que recebeu autorização da Vara de Execuções Penais do Rio de Janeiro para transferir sete presos ligados a facções criminosas para o sistema penitenciário federal.

Segundo a pasta, o processo será encaminhado ao juízo federal competente para que sejam adotados os trâmites legais. Após a autorização definitiva, a Polícia Penal Federal ficará responsável pelas escoltas e pela transferência dos detentos.

A decisão ocorre em meio à intensificação de ações de segurança no Rio de Janeiro e ao esforço do governo federal para ampliar o isolamento de lideranças do crime organizado.
